This is a dark tale of madness and obsession with the Joker one of Batmans oldest and deadliest adversaries. Amongst other things this story stirred quite a bit of controversy bec ause the story involves the Joker brutally and pointlessly shooting the Commissioners daughter in the spine. Although this may seem shocking this does lead her to becoming a far more significant character in her new role as Oracle for Batman. The Joker is bent on dragging his nemesis into the insanity and hell that a series of bad events cast his own agonized soul into. The story written by Alan Moore is so strong and powerful that it needs to be told. The Killing Joke tells the origin of the Joker at least one of the origins. His origin is the underpinning for the psychological drama to unfold, true to his psychosis the Joker doesn’t want to accept responsibility far from it he is bent on proving that any man put under duress can be insane.
